Highlands Village

Highlands Village is located to the north of Winchmore Hill between Oakwood and Enfield. It sits on the site of the old Highlands Hospital. The original Victorian hospital closed its doors in the 1990s and the site was sold for residential use. Most of the Victorian hospital blocks were retained and converted into modern apartments. Substantial new building work has taken place on the 55 acre site in the intervening years creating a good range of properties that range from affordable 1 bedroom flats to large detached houses. At the centre of Highlands Village is a large Sainsbury’s supermarket. This is supplemented by a Healthcare centre, a children's nursery and a pharmacy giving the area a great range of amenities. The W9 hopper bus travels around the village on a frequent basis and connects with Southgate Underground Station and Winchmore Hill and Grange Park Network Rail Stations from where the centre of London can be reached in about half an hour. Being within close proximity of some of the areas most well regarded schools has made the area popular with young families in recent years. A short walk away is Oakwood park, home to a great range of leisure facilities including tennis courts and a children’s playground.
