We know how scary it can be to buy a property, whether you’re buying your first property in Marlow or moving to a larger place, there’s no substitute for the peace of mind provided by a detailed report prepared by one of our experienced Chartered Surveyors. We offer RICS Level 2 Home Surveys and RICS Level 3 Home Surveys (previously known as Homebuyer and Building Surveys) and are waiting to discuss which is best for you.
After moving in to your new Marlow property, we hope you’ll come back to us whether you require advice on extending a lease, are planning to extend and require assistance with party wall matters or need an experienced surveyor to manage the project for you.
All of our senior surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors. In addition, the practice is regulated by the RICS so you can be sure that we adhere to the highest standards within the industry.

The Party Wall Act covers 3 distinct areas of work; changes to an existing party structures, the construction of new walls at the boundary and excavation within 3 or 6 metres of a shared or adjoining structure. An owner proposing to undertake any such work (known as the “building owner”) is required to formally notify the owners of affected neighbouring properties.
If the owner of the neighbouring property (known as the “adjoining owner”) does not consent to the notice, a dispute arises and both parties must appoint a surveyor, or concur in the appointment of a single ‘agreed’ surveyor. The surveyors produce a document called a “party wall award”.
The award confirms the building owner’s right to undertake the work but only in a way that minimises the risk of damage and ensures that the occupants of the adjoining owner’s property do not suffer unnecessary inconvenience. As part of the process, the condition of the adjoining owner’s property is recorded so that if damage is reported either during or following the works, there is a prior record to check it against.

It lies to the southwest of High Wycombe and west of Beaconsfield, offering a unique blend of historical charm and contemporary appeal. Surrounded by the rolling Chiltern Hills and the tranquil riverside, Marlow is a sought-after destination for visitors and a much-loved home for its residents.

Scenic walking and cycling routes along the Thames Path further enhance Marlow’s connectivity for outdoor enthusiasts.
The iconic Marlow Bridge, a 19th-century suspension bridge designed by William Tierney Clark, is one of the town’s most treasured landmarks. Spanning the River Thames, it provides a link to the Berkshire village of Bisham and serves as a symbol of Marlow’s timeless beauty.
To the south of the town, the 9.5-hectare Higginson Park offers a perfect riverside retreat. With its expansive lawns, a charming café, and a playground, it’s a hub of leisure and recreation. Although it has only been a public park since 1926, its use as a garden dates back to 1758.
