New Business Coordinator

South Woodford | Full-time | Permanent

£26,111.70 basic salary + typically £10,000–£13,000 team commission

We are looking for a New Business Coordinator to join our busy New Business team at our South Woodford office.

You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our clients, dealing with enquiries about RICS Home Surveys, Party Wall matters, valuations and other residential surveying services.

The role involves regular telephone and email communication. You’ll need to understand what the client is looking for, explain our services clearly, provide advice and quotations, and help prospective clients understand why Peter Barry may be the right choice even when we aren’t the cheapest option.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to be a surveyor or have previous surveying experience. Full training is provided.

We’re looking for someone who:

• is a confident and natural communicator who enjoys talking to people
• can build rapport and establish a good relationship with callers
• can listen, think and enter information into a computer while maintaining a natural conversation
• can learn and retain detailed information and explain it clearly
• has good judgement and knows when to ask for help rather than guess
• is genuinely interested in people and their circumstances
• is organised, accurate and hardworking
• responds positively to feedback and wants to develop their knowledge

Previous experience in estate agency, lettings, property or another customer-facing role would be useful, but is not essential. We’re more interested in your ability and attitude than the job you’ve previously done.

Training

You’ll receive structured training covering the residential property market, the home-buying process, RICS Home Surveys, Party Wall procedures and our other surveying services.

You’ll also spend time listening to calls and shadowing our surveyors on inspections, giving you a practical understanding of the services you’ll be discussing with clients.

The role can provide an excellent starting point for a career in residential surveying.

Salary and benefits

• £26,111.70 basic salary
