Mr Steve Hobbs carried out the survey for my flat and also to put on the report how much the lease extension should cost. The Landlord however was very unreasonable and wanted nearly £10k more than what Mr Hobbs had stated and so Mr Hobbs went ahead with the negotiation and managed to get the premium down to nearly £10k less than what the unruly landlord wanted. Our Assistant surveyor David Brazier is currently dealing with day-to-day matters on a party wall dispute in Feltham where our senior surveyor Shaun Blake is appointed by the adjoining owners. The building owner has applied to Hounslow planning department for a single-storey rear extension.

Although the adjoining owners do not object to the planned works, they wanted to ensure that their property will be protected and that inconvenience is kept to a minimum. While preparing the schedule of condition, David was able to discuss their concerns and offer them reassurance about how the extension would be constructed. While the appointed surveyors have no say over the appearance of the extension, they can direct how the work should proceed to ensure that the risk of damage is kept to a minimum.

The two appointed surveyors are now in the process of finalising the Award, following which the works can commence.
