Recent Activity in Chicwick W4

We were appointed by the owner of a Victorian terraced house in Bedford Park, Chiswick. Their neighbour was planning a substantial redevelopment of their house including a rear extension and a loft conversion.

The building owners had asked their structural designer, who was going to be overseeing the works, to also deal with any party wall matters arising. As the building owner’s surveyor had such an extensive role in the scheme, the adjoining owner wished to appoint their own separate surveyor.

Our surveyor William Weaver took on the role and visited the adjoining owner’s property early in the process. The primary purpose of the visit was to prepare a schedule of condition, but it also provided an opportunity to discuss the proposals with the designer and listen to the adjoining owner’s concerns. As a result, some minor changes to the design were agreed prior to the party wall award being agreed. The project is ongoing.
