Recent Activity in Weybridge KT13

The owner of a mid-terrace Edwardian property just to the north of the High Street in Weybridge recently put in for planning permission for a loft conversion and wanted some advice on party wall procedures before approaching their neighbours.

Our Assistant Surveyor David Brazier talked the building owners through the process and advised them to speak with their neighbours as soon as possible to make them aware of the proposed work. In our experience, the outcome is invariably better if affected neighbours are informed of proposed works as soon as possible.

The early approach ensured that the neighbour was fully onboard with the proposed works and, upon receiving the formal party wall notice, were happy to consent subject to David preparing a schedule of condition covering the parts of their property at risk from the proposed works. Having a detailed written schedule of condition in place makes it easier to identify damage and helps to avoid disputes arising either during or following the works.

About Weybridge

Weybridge, a quaint town nestled in the county of Surrey, exudes a charm that is distinctly its own. Situated between the neighbouring areas of Staines and Hampton, Weybridge finds itself in the heart of a picturesque region while still being well connected.
