If you’re in the process of buying a property in Canning Town you’ll want to avoid surprises after you move in by arranging a professional survey.
We offer both RICS Level 2 & Level 3 Surveys (formerly known as ‘Homebuyer Reports’ and ‘Building Surveys’). The names may have changed but these reports remain the benchmark for residential pre-purchase surveys in Canning Town. Both reports will highlight any significant defects, but the level 3 will go on to consider repair options and future maintenance. Where issues have been highlighted, we can provide ballpark costings to be used as the basis for renegotiation without the hassle of gathering quotes.
If you require advice on an issue relating to a property you already own, we can assist with that too. A Specific Defect Report is written with the same level of detail as a Level 3 Survey but focuses on just 1 or 2 issues and is therefore more cost effective.

Learn more about the benefits of commissioning a detailed survey report and how our team of experienced surveyors can provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision about whether to proceed.
The Level 2 (Homebuyer) Report is designed to provide buyers with concise information about the condition of a property. This is achieved by giving elements a Condition Rating based on the traffic light system and summarising them at the front of the report.
The Level 3 (Building Survey) is the most detailed of the RICS Home Survey Reports and is suitable for all residential properties. The report can be customised and enhanced with the addition of a valuation, feasibility study or ballpark repair costs.
If there's an issue with a property that you already own which requires investigation, our Building Surveyors can provide a Specific Defect Report. The report will provide an expert opinion on the cause and useful guidance on the next steps.

Canning Town is part of the London Borough of Newham and is flanked by Poplar to the south-west and Plaistow to the north-east.
The area has been the subject of a major regeneration programme since 2012 with a long term plan to build 10,000 new homes. The £3.7 billion project, which takes in Customs House, has begun to transform the area with a new town centre due to be completed in around 2014.
Canning Town was also the location of one of East London’s most infamous buildings, Roman Point. The 22-storey tower block partly collapsed shortly after it had opened in 1968 following a gas explosion. The blast damaged some load-bearing walls causing a corner of the building to collapse resulting in the death of 4 people. It contributed to the stigma around tower blocks and led to changes in the way they were constructed.
Canning Town Station forms part of both the Jubilee Line and Docklands Light Railway – Canary Wharf is just a short hop away by tube which makes the area a good option for professionals at the start of their working life who need affordable housing.
