The different areas of Clapton merge together and yet still manage to remain distinctive. Upper Clapton is in the London Borough of Hackney and it lies east of Stoke Newington and west of the River Lea.
Upper Clapton is becoming more popular and there are plenty of open, green spaces for residents to enjoy in the surrounding area. These include Springfield Park and North Mill Fields and they help to give Upper Clapton more of a suburban, out-of-town feel than some of the more built-up, inner city areas that are close by. There are numerous sports facilities and decent bars and restaurants to entice people to move here in order to work their way up the property ladder. Housing is varied with a good selection of period housing, as well as flats and apartments.
Upper Clapton has a mainline station but no nearby underground. The station is in zone 2 and trains run to London Liverpool Street in just over 10 minutes.
