About Leyton

Located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, the town of Leyton sits between Walthamstow to the north and Stratford to the south.

The town has been the home of Leyton Orient Football Club since 1936 who, at the time of writing play in the fourth tier of English football. The club’s stadium is located to the south of the area on Brisbane Road but is now named after the current sponsor.

Also in Leyton are the Lee Valley VeloPark indoor velodrome and an outdoor BMX racing track which were constructed for use during the 2012 London Olympics. The Velo Park continues to host international cycling events including the 2022 Commonwealth Games and in 2015 Sir Bradley Wiggins broke the UCI Hour record at the venue setting a distance 33.881 miles.

The area is serviced by 2 stations, Leyton Midland Road to the north which is part of the Gospel Oak to Barking leg of the London Overground and Leyton Underground in the south, alongside the A12, which forms part of the Central Line.
